JANUARY 2000 CONFERENCE IN KERALA

Dear friend,
The count-down has begun. Only 162 days more to the
JANUARY 2000 RATIONALIST CONFERENCE.
We cordially invite you to join us during the
Second International Rationalist Conference scheduled to be
held at Trivandrum, capital of Kerala state in India
on 17-22 January 2000.
If you have not yet registered as a delegate, please do so
as early as possible.
The Registration Form is given at the end of this letter.
You may print-out this form and send it by air mail.
Or you can send the filled-up form through a reply e-mail
to <edamaruku@yahoo.com>
The registration fee may be sent by cheque payable at Delhi
favoring INTERNATIONAL RATIONALIST CONFERENCE. This can be
mailed alongwith the registration form.
You can also send the Registration Form by air mail or e-mail,
and send the cheque by air mail later,
latest by 15 November 1999. Whenever you send a cheque,
please send it by registered post.
Registration fee is US $ 150 or equivalent per participant.
If more participants register together, accompanying
participants' registration fee will be US $ 100 only
(for each participant).
The registration fee includes:

Participation in all plenary sessions, work-shops and the
academic seminar; all conference papers and conference kit;
tea/coffee during the breaks; lunch on 18, 19, 20 and 21;
cultural event on 18th evening; transport from airport to hotel;
transport between hotels at the Kovalam beach and the venue
on all days by coach.
(Vegetarian food is available for those who prefer, during
the conference and the optional events)
List of hotels specially reserved for the conference with
reduced rates for the delegates (at the Kovalam beach) will be
sent on registration. The rates of hotel rooms range between
$ 15 and $ 70 per night for single occupation and
$ 20 and $ 90 for double occupation.
Trivandrum is not an expensive town.
OPTIONAL EVENTS: There are optional events and journeys
during and after the conference.
A. Get-together dinner on 19 January ($ 30)
B. Grand boat journey through the lagoons
to Aleppy, the Venice of the East,
on 22 January. Includes sea food lunch. ($ 70)
C. Guided sight-seeing the historic city of
Trivandrum in coach, on 23 January ($ 20)
D. A trip to Cape Comorin, the souhern tip of
India where Arabian Sea, Bay of Bengal and
Indian Ocean meet, starting on 23 January,
returning on 24 January. Sun set and rise
at the Cape.
Includes overnight stay, dinner and breakfast. ($ 95)
E. A trip to Thekkady Wild-life Resort and
Cardamom Hills, starting on 25 January,
returning on 26 January.
Includes lunch, dinner, overnight stay and ($ 95)
boat journey.
