Henry Morgentaler (Canada)

Born in Poland in 1923, Henry Morgentaler is a survivor of the holocaust. Graduated in medicine from the University of Montreal in 1953, he became a leader of the pro-choice movement in Canada, was tried several times on charge of illegal abortion, and was instrumental in overturning Canada's abortion law. He was the first President of Humanist Association of Canada and is active in promoting Humanism in his country.
