Prof. Mike Archer

Mike Archer, one of Australia's leading paleontologists, was born in Sydney and raised in the USA. He had undergraduate training in geology and biology at Princeton University (1967), held consecutive Fulbright Scholarships for paleontological research in the Western Australian Museum, and took a PhD in zoology at the University of WA. From 1972 to 1978 he was Curator of Mammals at the Queensland Museum. Since 1989 he has been professor of Biological Science at the University of NSW, and in 1999 he also became the Director of the Australian Museum in Sydney.
