Prof. Vern Bullough (UK)

Vern Bullough is a Distinguished Professor Emeritus from SUNY (State University of New York) and also an Outstanding Professor Emeritus from California State University, Northridge. He is currently an Adjunct Professor at the University of Southern California. A historian by training, he specialized in the history of medicine and science in the medieval and early modern period. He wrote about medical and scientific ideas and sex early in his career and gradually increased his writing in the field. He is the author or co-author of over 50 books, has nearly 200 referred articles, and hundreds of other articles and presentations. A long time humanist, he for a time served on the board of the American Humanist Association, was a founder of AHA Foundation and served on its board, was one of the founders for the Council for Secular Humanism and was very closely associated with Free Inquiry magazine. He also was a member of the Board of the IHEU and served as co-president and later vice president for four years.
